Dealing with faith

In the book of Hebrews, it is said that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and the conviction of things not seen. A hefty opener, it is a rather true statement of what it means to have faith from a biblical stand point. Just as Christ died wholeheartedly for us, it is just as important to wholeheartedly live for Jesus. Said faith will be the main topic of the blog.

The cornerstone of one’s faith must be on Christ and his Word alone. The sum of our beliefs could very well be rooted on John 3:16 and Christ’s death on the cross. His sacrifice on the cross was and still is an open invitation to God’s love and forgiveness. One must believe this simple truth if does wish to make it to heaven. Although a bold and blunt statement, Christ’s love and forgiveness unto man was shown that very day he was crucified.

One attains faith through hearing the good news (Romans 10:17). Romans 10 speaks very deeply about faith and reveals that Christ is the only path to God. As a mediator, he extends God’s forgiveness towards us in a loving and father-like way. Faith, however put , was never meant to put a passive term; it is an action we partake in everyday. It is not only being able to actively trust our heavenly father but also to actively engage in prayer and repentance at minimum. There are numerous ways to show our faith to Jesus on a daily basis.

To know the scriptures is a vital and important part of a believer’s life and is needed for one’s day-to-day spiritual well-being and faith. Without the word, we could never know who the father is and without prayer, we do not engage in the privilege of expressing ourselves to Him. Once having developed a relationship with our father, it is also healthy and spiritually necessary to have a community of believers around us who can strengthen and support us.

In short, faith is rather simple to attain; it is a personal commitment one takes to be closer to Jesus. It is an unshakable belief one has in the father and a desire to know him better every day. With that being said,

May God be with you all

Amen
